the library of my dream

Once in a blue moon, I went to the library yesterday for a couple of hours before the Semicon's last test. I was sitting in a group's table, alone while waiting for Haidi. As I was 'studying' [sambil berangan coklat ape yang sedap dimakan], a group of students sat at the next table next to me while the other one at the front, and by then, the library has transformed itself into a flea market.

"Arrrrgghhhh~! Bising...."
If I am not thinking straight, I would get a chair and ketuk kepala sorang-sorang... Owh, maybe that sounds too brutal doesn't it? Ok ok... Maybe I would only take a complete Oxford Dictionary and baling buku tebal tu right at their face and shout "SHUT UP!". Ah, sound more sopan than before. But takpe la, sabar, cos I know whenever when I come to the library with friends, we would make noice as well. Sometimes when we are in group, we didn't realize the sound that we made is that loud, and some people would get irritated with it. Pengajaran untuk saya dan semua....

The library we have here in the Engineering Campus is like a big refrigerator, where everyone would be freezing inside. Being one of the student here, the library here is one of the building that made me proud. It's HUGE~ and elegant I would say. Having all the best infrastucture, the discussion rooms, the audio room, video room... sangat menarik~ However, I think it would be more interesting if the library made some revolution, some interesting revolutions.

1. Sometimes, we would be thirsty and hungry and we need to go the cafe to get drinks, what if the library build a mini cafe inside, macam Coffee Bean or Starbuck ke~ bestnye sambil belajar minum-minum air panas dalam air cond yang sangat sejuk, macam kat oversea je...~ =D

2. I would get tired sometimes when I keep on sitting for hours, how if the video room, turn it into a room full of pillows with soft carpets, where you can study or read while laying down. How cool is that?

Doesn't it sounds interesting to have all that? Maybe it is irrelevant kot, but, it will surely attracts more students to the library~ Haha... =) Just a riddicuolous idea I have...

useless

I'm not functioning very well today, in the matter of being an Electronic Enginering student who is actually doing his final year project on Software Engineering.

My command prompt has been disabled! Demmit! So how am I going to get my reports done and finish writing the programs by the end of this week, tell me command prompt, tell me!!! [cekik-cekik leher laptop]. Haha, being a bit psyscho over here with the due date is approaching. It's funny tho to think how we really rely on somethings to be someone and we're totally useless without them?

Yesterday was my last day with lecture. Sedihnya. It felt like the last day of school. Gosh, I'm gonna miss all the 'Dewan Kuliah'. I'm counting the last 4 weeks in USM. ='( I really want to write something on Gloria Per See, which is the annual dinner we have with SEE we had the other night, but my head just can't stop thinking on typing something for the final report of my project. Bahagia sungguh menjadi seorang pelajar tahun akhir...

We never forget...

Last week I went to the library and I found this poster. "Tayangan Spiderman". Interesting eh to get to watch a movie in a library [terasa macam tengok kat wayang je]. Even I didn't go to that show, I feel that watching a movie is part of a learning process in mastering English, and at the same time, we could enjoy ourselves. Really. We did that back then when I was in secondary school where my english teacher, Pn. Cheang will take us to the library and watch a movie, and later she would give us some questions on that movie. Not only we could learn on understanding the language, but as well as speaking with the correct pronounciation.

We know that Science and Mathematics' teaching format in the secondary school has been changed to English, and now they are considering to change it back to Bahasa Malaysia, or is it Bahasa Melayu? Come on... we are not Japanese where people outside need our knowledge, instead we need theirs. When entering the university, I feel that it was easier for me to write the reports in English since all the terms used are in English, in fact, all the references we have are almost 100% in English. When we do that, that doesn't mean that we're not protecting the culture or the language. We used Bahasa Malaysia since we were born, and we still speak in Malay in our daily life, how can we forget? There are other actions that can be done to apply the culture, example, the officials can wear Baju Melayu to the parliement instead of suit? Kan kan? But we should never get over reacted on the language, when we need the knowledge from the outside to go further, and the same time, we still have our main language in our daily conversation with each Malaysians. And from that, I conclude that I really believe that studying Science and Mathematics in English is really a big advantage for the youngsters. [mcm debat]

Strawberry sangat sedap, tetapi aneh apabila Para kata dia tak makan strawberry... Tapi carrot tu saya tatau nak buat apa. Tapi lawa... Terima kasih!

as the silent majority starts to speak

A shocking history was made last Saturday as 5 states fall to the opposition after the 11th General Election of Malaysia. I never thought it was coming. I did predict that Penang might fall, but neither Selangor nor Perak was in my mind?

As Datuk Seri Samy Vellu lost at the early hours of the counting process, and then Datuk Seri Sharizat’s loss to Nurul Izzah, I know that something was not right there. I stayed in front of the TV for the latest result from 9 till 3 in the morning. *yawn* It was so interesting, yet scary…
Fuh, that was too much wasn’t it? It was unbelievable…

Being neutral here, I am on neither sides, the government nor the opposition, but somehow I feel if the government failed to earn majority vote this time, it would be a chaos. Let see here in Perak, when the new ‘government to be’ failed to decide who will be the ‘Menteri Besar’ till today. Proven there that they are not that prepared to rule the state. [ada banyak roket di negeri ini, adakah saya berkelayakan untuk menjadi angkasawan seterusnya? Yay!~]

However, in Penang tho, after less that 24 hours, they have already decided that Lim Guan Eng is the ‘Chief Minister to be’ of Penang. I can see that coming. Eh, I was wondering that Penang & Selangor which both of the states fall to the opposition, oh, the ‘former opposition’, hehe, sorry, eh, back to the topic, I was wondering if the development will be continued as planned [the 2nd bridge of Penang, all the corridors etc], or will they be moved to Johor [Iskandariah] as the government kept their strong base there? And is it possible that DAP, PAS & PKR have the abilities to keep their promises [lower the price of petrol, terminate the toll, free education etc] in their winning states when the ruling party still have the majority in Parliament? Gosh, I’m sooo curious… [big question mark on the head]

So what went wrong?
1. I think the government loss their Chinese voters in the Nothern State. Why? I dunno~ Haha.. I think it is because of the wrong approach taken by the government, that they are going more to agriculture than industrial that was proposed by former PM, Tun Dr Mahathir.
2. The government didn’t explain much on the issues taken by the opposition? Don’t you think so? About the Hindraf, ‘Harga Barang Naik’ etc.
3. I also believe that the government controls the media too much that some people get irritated with it. Hehe…
4. The ‘mahasiswa’ who is also the new voters want a change, yet they didn’t know what is coming when they have that ‘change’.
5. Some of the candidates from the ruling party are ‘boring’ and lack of personality. Plus, they are over confident they would wipe away all the seats.
So what are we expecting now? A government without the 2/3 majority is not that strong, and they need some of the oppositions’ vote in the parliament to create a new law, isn’t it? New faces, will be in the new cabinet as some of the seniors has been put down to rest. And how the new government in these 5 states will work together when they have different agenda. I also believe that the government will change some major agendas and approaches later on especially for MCA and MIC. A strong punch in the face for Pak Lah...

Anyhow, I’m hoping for the best for every states’ government whether it comes from the ruling party of the opposition, we sure surely are hoping for the best. We have to pay for the result and respect that as it was chosen by the Malaysians.

I did my voting at St. Francis for first time~! Yay~ Bangga~

Home Sweet Home

Home is where you heart belongs. Home is where family is. Home is the place where you turn to whenever you have the chance to.

After a quite boring weekend last week, I decided to spend this week's Saturday and Sunday at home. It is always relaxing when I'm home, nothing to be worried about, all the assignments or final year project are forgotten as I laid down with the remote on my hand watching Astro, any channel would do, as long as the television is on! And I will go to the kitchen almost every half an hour to check what am I having that time, amazingly, this house never runs out of food! [I feel that I'm getting 'bigger' and 'heavier' lately]

"Hati sangat senang...~"

My parents will go gardening every evening, and I always act as a loyal watcher. I love watching all the plants and flowers, but having my hand doing them, is just not me. Haha, teruk kan... But I'm not that bad, I tidy up almost the whole house while my parents are out to the hospital, and I feel sangattttlah rajin...

Back to astro, Malaysia now has its own CNN! Where you called it Bernama TV. Well, actually Bernama is already an established news source, but now it has its own channel on Channel 502 Astro. 24 hours of news! Hurray~ But it will be better if it is independent. =))

p.s. I was wandering around at my friend's friendster page, I watched some of the photos, and I was sooo bumped. "If I were you, I will always ask you to come along". Terkecewa sebentar...
