Childhood Heroes.

My nephews and niece were home yesterday. The eldest was so obsessed with Ultraman that we had to sacrifice our routine show on TV for him to watch his superhero in action. I remember when I was about 8, I was super duperly in love with the Flashman. See the photo above? Yes, they were the Flash. .. .. .. Ok fine, saya malu. Sekian.

Anyhow, there were a lot of superheroes like them back then, we had Maskman, Cybercop, Power Rangers (the original with Rita), Suria Baja Hitam. I know they sound ridiculous right now, even I really do not understand what is so great about them, at this age of 26. But they were really something to me, to my friends. We even play them after school! Maybe to adults, they were some kind of a joke, but to the kids, they were truly a legend.

What I really want to know right now is...
1. Why must it always be Japan for the monster to attack?
2. Is Ultraman an alien?
3. Why must there be a 'dancing' movement here and there to do your special power?
4. Why the monster did not attack the heroes while they were 'dancing' to their power?
5. Why should they pose (like the flashman above) after changing to their 'awesome' pose?

Tak paham lah.

Summons!

A month back, I was proud that I could announce that I never had summon driving this car within these 3 years. Sekali ambek kau, 2 saman terus kau dapat sebulan. Padan muke.

Bawak 121 km/j je pun. Sebb lak pakcik polis ni. Takpe, dah buat salah tu ngaku je lah. Lepas ni kene laa cruise kat 110km/j tepat. Pengajaran untuk kali ni. Berazam untuk tak kena saman lagi. Cet porahhh.

With the new policy of Polis DiRaja Malaysia sekarang ni, if you pay within 14 days after the summon was sent to you, then you'll get 50% discount, which is RM150. Kelam-kabut dengan penuh excited nya lah aku nak bayar saman, dan memandangkan saya ada seorang yang sangat berteknologi tinggi, jadi bayar pun mesti laa online. Using myeg.com.my was very convenient.

Movies Reviews. Part 3.

Yes people, I'm so lame that I only could do 4 movies in the past 5 months.
I've been extremely busy that I have no time to go out. Lame.
Ok. Let's start with the movie the latest I've watched. Konon habis latest laa kau tengok.

Real Steel
Seriously, one of the best movie so far. It's a about a guy with his estranged son going into this robots boxing games. It all started because of money when after some time it turned out to be a once in a lifetime experience for both of them, realizing what he had been missing over the years, his son. The way they mixed the emotions and the excitement of the game, is amazing. And the background music was not disappointing as well.
I will watch this movie again, and again, and again.
4.5/5

Johnny English, Reborn.
Johnny English is literally, Mr.Bean. Except that he talks.
Okay, maybe Johnny English is Mr.Bean's younger brother. Or maybe his step sister. Who knows? They are both British anyway?
As always, Rowan Atkinson could never fail to make us laugh. All the scenes are humorous that people can die laughing. The story line is fresh and funny, what else?
I only could remember that I laugh so hard all the way, from minute one, till the end.
4/5

Nur Kasih, The Movie.
Okey, tak malu ke letak movie yang bulan 5 dulu?
Anyhow, as I mentioned during the previous post, Nur Kasih is the long-waited movie that I really like to watch. It's just because the drama series are just too good that I can't be left out from the movie. Believe it or not, I went watching this movie alone, in the middle of the day.
Nanti pergi dengan kawan nangis kan malu.
The movie was not as good as the series though. But not that disappointing. Nur and Adam were a combination of bad luck couple. I mean, the worst. I wonder whether they were good for each other, because they were tested with many obstacles. Seriously, I would give up if I were them. And what made me so curious is that almost all other characters during the drama series are gone! Gone with wind~! Mungkin tak mampu nak bayar banyak sangat pelakon dalam satu movie. Anyhow, the ending was good tho. Nasib baik Tiz Zaqyah cantik.
3/5

X-Men First Class.
X-Men has always been my favorite heroes. I liked Cyclops and Gene the most. But that does not apply in this movie because X-Men First Class is when Prof X and Magnetto are BFFs. Haha. This movie made all the rest of X-Men movies make sense. It completes them all. If you're really a fan of X-Men, this is absolutely a movie that you must watch.
The best X-Men movie so far.
4/5

Empat Gadis Bercerita.

Lisa Surihani: Comel gila budak pompuan tu tengah makan ke'r'opok!
Siti Nurhaliza: A ah, tengok lah reben dia... alah alah, comelnya.
Fazura : Baju pun matching tengok, pink-pink biru gitu. Suke...!
Maya Karin : Kulit pun putih-putih gebu... dah besar mesti cantik macam I.

**tiba-tiba budak perempuan tu buang plastik keropok tu kat tepi jalan**

Lisa Surihani : Amboi, tengok 'r;ambut budak tu, kusut macam tak syampoo sejak lahi'r'...
Siti Nurhaliza : Dah la muka berbulu...
Fazura : Eeeh, jangan dekat dengan I, shuuuh... jijiks!
Maya Karin : Rasa nak lempang je...

Yes kawan-kawan. Didik lah anak elok-elok. Comel macam mana pun anak tu, kalau perangai buruk, terus jadi hodoh.
Sekian kisah hari ini.

Until The End Of Time.

Last week when I was in a flight, I sat next to an old British couple.
They were on their way back from holidays.
The old lady was reading a book, while the old man wrote her immigration card, hold her bag and make sure she is not interrupted. He made sure her bag was zipped properly, her left over food was put aside to his plate and reminded her to take her medicines.
I know I was being this weird old couple stalker, but I could see how important she is to him.
I wish I could be like him. I know I can be like him, and I will be him.

Europe Trip, Norway.

Still on land of the vikings. It took me about 6 hours to get to Oslo from Stockholm, by train. Surprisingly there is no immigration check in between the countries. As I thought Stockholm was cold, the temperature here in Oslo is even colder. In Stockholm and Oslo, the trees are yellowish as the winter is approaching.

Like Stockholm, the price of ever single thing here is ridiculously expensive. But in term of the buildings, Oslo has a little bit modern touch into it.

Oslo was our last destination. It was a relief completing the trip and right after the last meeting wrapped up, the organizers had arranged us for a sight seeing tour. Luckily for us, we got to visit the place where ski-jumping was held and a park with thousands of nude sculpture with abstract messages about life, The Frogner Park. I realized that art and literature is very popular among the Europeans as they recognized their poet and artist for remembrance.

On the 2nd day, before my flight back to London-Kuala Lumpur, I managed to go to the Vikings Museum. There are 3 viking ships inside and they simply amazed me on how  the ships from the 800AD can last that long till today. They even used screws like we do! To get to the museum, we took a bus and a ferry. Only 1 ticket is required to use all the public transport within 24 hours.

We got back to London late in the evening before taking our flight back to Kuala Lumpur the next day. Visiting Europe is really once in a lifetime experience, a humbling one to know how great God creations are.
Alhamdulillah.

Europe Trip, Sweden.

As I thought London was little bit warm, I was expecting the same with Stockholm as they are not  that far from each other. But I was totally wrong. I was shivering at the airport's immigration and this place was the coldest one I've ever been so far.

It took me about 2 hours flight to reach Stockholm from London and I spent 2 nights there. I didn't have much time to spend to have a look around here though as the schedule is quite pack. With total populations estimated around 800,000, Stockholm might not be as busy London is, but still, the old school persona is still there. It's a city with a character. Enjoying the scenery and the old township just blew me away. It's how they keep this heritage buildings for hundred of years is unbelievable.

I manage to have a little chat with some students during our dinner at the Malaysian Embassy. I got to know that the tax here in Sweden is rather high, but almost everything with social development such as school and universities fees are supported by the Government. Maybe losing almost 40% to your total monthly income for taxing is nothing if have such facilities.

Almost everything here is ridiculously expensive. It's almost the double price from what you get in London. They said, if you want to save a little money, DIY (Do it yourselves). If converted, it's like you spend almost or maybe you can reach 100 ringgit per meal. The price of a fridge magnet is about 60kroner (RM30) which in London you can get the 1/5 of the price with the same quality. Shocking isn't it? No wonder they can come over to our place and spend only their 2 weeks saving for a 1 month vacation. So people, that is why having high income nation is really important.

I managed to get on a hop-on hop-off for couple of hours but I didn't have time to visit the places as time is running out fast. It's only for sight seeing purpose but the tour is priceless.

I took a train to Oslo on my last day at Stockholm and got the chance to witness the view of the countryside of Sweden. The houses are rather small with typical Scandinavian home (with white frame windows) and their farms. Their forest is absolutely different from ours, mostly are pines.

Sweden is a absolutely a beautiful country. Save money and have a visit over here.
Simply amazing.

Europe Trip, United Kingdom.

I got this golden opportunity to join a business trip last week to Europe which include United Kingdom, Sweden and Norway for 7 days. For UK, I went to Birmingham on the first day and to London on the last 2 days. In between the trip was my days at Stockholm, Sweden and Oslo, Norway.

UK is always on the list of countries which I really loved to go. This is the country where my parents met and got married. So I have been listening to their stories since I was little about their life there. In fact, my aunt is currently living here too, in Wales with the rest of her family.

UK is really an old school country. A superb awesome old school country. London is like a heritage metropolitan. They cherish each of their old buildings which most have been renovated inside, but still, the original structure is kept fine. And I managed to get to the icons of the city like Big Ben, Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, National Museum and of course, the Buckingham Palace. Someone also told me that London has the oldest subway train system, yet it stills remain as one the best in the world, and that is totally true. Even without a silent and super fast train, I can go to each places easily without any assistance. The system is super friendly.

Yerp, for a Malaysian, maybe travelling to London might be expensive, but you will think twice when you spent in Norway or Sweden. I'll get back to it at the next post about it. My mom kept on reminding me not to convert the Pounds to Ringgit whenever I'm buying something over there. And after a week, I think that the price here is quite reasonable.

To find Halal food also is never a problem. You can find a lot of Muslim foreigners doing business here and a couple of Malaysians restaurant. In fact, you can easily do your prayer as many multifaith prayer room can be found around.

I took a train to Birmingham. It's about one hour plus trip.
The train go through some country area and it is simply amazing, but it's ashamed that I didn't spend much time here as I rush back to London after 4 hours to catch a plane to Stockholm.

For the weather, it's kinda feel like Malaysia though as London is currently having her Indian Summer in middle of Fall, it was 30degree, and it is good. The sky is blue and I was sweating under my shirt.

It was simply awesome.
