Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Yes. This may sound stupid. The American President was actually a vampire hunter.

Beware Edward Cullen!

I watched the movie of Abraham Lincoln, not the one about his biography being the President, but this one is  how he became a Vampire Slayer. Amazingly, all facts here about this legend were all correct, the wife, the son (Willie who died). It differs only how his son died, yes, what else, bitten by a vampire. Not forgetting the Civil War, the political adventure etc.

The writer was a genius, to be fair. How he arranged the facts of stories were put nicely, make sense and could be accepted, even it involves vampire. But, people, please... please don't ever put in your mind that this was actually true, even it could be, but it's not. Abraham Lincoln is truly a legend. He abolished the slavery system in America, which is HUGE contribution to the country, and to the world. Remember him as that.

... Wait. There is one thing which might not be true. In this movie, the vampire could not kill another vampire... But Edward Cullen totally can! Boo yah!

My Way.

Before I start, just so you know, Sitiawan's cinema has 3-D hall.

My brother and I watched My Way yesterday at the super awesome cinema of Sitiawan. Yerp, truly awesome. Tak tipu. Serius kagum dengan Sitiawan.

Anyhow, My Way was a Korean movie, directed by the same man, director of the best movie I've known so far, Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War. So, don't find it unusual to see there's a bit of similarity between these 2 movies. Even the main actor is the same! It differs only at the time where Taegukgi happened during the Korean Civil War while, My Way was during the 2nd World War.

With total budget of 28 billion Won (USD$20 mil), there is no wonder that the cinematography graphics, bloody chaos and stunts are world class.

My Way is a very fast paced movie. Seriously, don't blink. You'll miss one important scene and wonder what happened at the next scene? Somehow the 2 hours are not enough. The secondary characters come and go very quickly, and this movie only concentrate on the relationship between these 2 men at war. Less family, less friends. That means, less emotion. What is stressed out was how they survived each days and swapping places of ups and downs. 

Nevertheless, this epic movie is still a good one to watch.

Remember, it is not about nationalism or patriotism, but somehow rather more to humanity.

 Sorry My Way, you may have your way, but still, not as good as Taegukgi.

Movies Reviews. Part 3.

Yes people, I'm so lame that I only could do 4 movies in the past 5 months.

I've been extremely busy that I have no time to go out. Lame.

Ok. Let's start with the movie the latest I've watched. Konon habis latest laa kau tengok.

Real Steel

Seriously, one of the best movie so far. It's a about a guy with his estranged son going into this robots boxing games. It all started because of money when after some time it turned out to be a once in a lifetime experience for both of them, realizing what he had been missing over the years, his son. The way they mixed the emotions and the excitement of the game, is amazing. And the background music was not disappointing as well. 

I will watch this movie again, and again, and again.

Johnny English, Reborn.

Johnny English is literally, Mr.Bean. Except that he talks.

Okay, maybe Johnny English is Mr.Bean's younger brother. Or maybe his step sister. Who knows? They are both British anyway?

As always, Rowan Atkinson could never fail to make us laugh. All the scenes are humorous that people can die laughing. The story line is fresh and funny, what else?

I only could remember that I laugh so hard all the way, from minute one, till the end.

Nur Kasih, The Movie.

Okey, tak malu ke letak movie yang bulan 5 dulu?
Anyhow, as I mentioned during the previous post, Nur Kasih is the long-waited movie that I really like to watch. It's just because the drama series are just too good that I can't be left out from the movie. Believe it or not, I went watching this movie alone, in the middle of the day.
 Nanti pergi dengan kawan nangis kan malu. 
The movie was not as good as the series though. But not that disappointing. Nur and Adam were a combination of bad luck couple. I mean, the worst. I wonder whether they were good for each other, because they were tested with many obstacles. Seriously, I would give up if I were them. And what made me so curious is that almost all other characters during the drama series are gone! Gone with wind~! Mungkin tak mampu nak bayar banyak sangat pelakon dalam satu movie. Anyhow, the ending was good tho. Nasib baik Tiz Zaqyah cantik.

X-Men First Class.
X-Men has always been my favorite heroes. I liked Cyclops and Gene the most. But that does not apply in this movie because X-Men First Class is when Prof X and Magnetto are BFFs. Haha. This movie made all the rest of X-Men movies make sense. It completes them all. If you're really a fan of X-Men, this is absolutely a movie that you must watch.
The best X-Men movie so far.

Movies Review. Part 2.

Fuh, banyak pulak movie yang ditonton lately.

Er, jangan marah kalau saya kata movie yang korang suka tak best, ni pandangan peribadi je. Sekadar comment dari sorang yang daif seni saje. Ewah.

Inception

Ok, it's been a while before I got the chance to watch it. Inception to me is one of the most brilliant movie I'd ever watched. The storyline is perfect, fascinating. Tapi cerita ni kena la banyak fikir, need a lot of focus. Jangan la tengok lepas baru kuar dari jammed terok kat jalan raya or after kerja. But definately a movie to watch. Seriously, it's awesome.

Cun

Maya Karin dan Remy Ishak. They are the only advantages that this movie had. Even rasa lakonan pelakon-pelakon takde la gempak sangat, jalan cerita pun biasa-biasa je. Typical romantic comedy punya movie, which we can expect what to happen next. Klimaks dia pon meleret-leret. Penat tunggu ending. But movie ni sangat santai, shooting pun dekat kampung. Yang ni boleh la tengok lepas keluar dari jammed, or lepas keje. But I think they can do better on the cinematography. Logik cerita pun macam takde, tapi ni kot hidup artis kat Malaysia. Who knows?

Red Riding Hood

Cerita ni last minute choice, dekat kaunter tiket tibe-tibe pilih movie ni pasal movie yang asal nak tengok macam penuh. Cara pembikinan cerita ni almost macam Twilight. Bila tengok Director, rupanya sama. No wonder. Hero citer ni pon suke buat-buat macho macam Edward Cullen, padahal ko bukan nye vampire pun nak macho macam tu. :p Storyline dia tak best sangat, but the surprise effect menjadi, cuma kecewa dengan result dia. Lepas tengok, tak rasa macam nak tengok lagi. Huh.

Rio

Oooowh. Cartoon. But this time around there are mixture with real life punya suasana kat ala-ala Brazil camtu. I don't know what to comment about, cerita dia ok2 je. Takde special sangat, macam cartoon biasa. Senang cakap, tak menyentuh perasaan. Takde x-factor tu. Takde umph. Hehe.

Kongsi

Kongsi oh kongsi. You're so lucky for having Shahizey Sam. Based on the trailer, sangatlah hebat movie ni with all the stunts. But after watching the whole movie, disappointing. All that the movie can be proud of is the stunts, and Sam. That's all. Jalan cerita, zero. Watak-watak ni berlawan antara satu sama lain without any strong reasons, motive. Banyak persoalan timbul masa tengah movie dan tak terjawab sampai laa habis cerita ni. Tapi nasib baik kelakar. Kalau tak...~ (sendiri jawab) Lu langsi, Lu mati.

Tak sabar nak tengok Nur Kasih (hati bunga-bunga)

Movies Review 2011. Part 1.

Korang mesti ingat saya dah pindah ke Jabatan Tulis Blog Negara (JTBN) kan? Dah ada 4 post untuk bulan ni, padahal baru 11 hari bulan. Sebenarnye bukan saya tak ada kerja lain, serious, kerja saya banyak gila, tapi saya tulis ni bila kelapangan. Tolong jangan bagitau bos saya ye. Kalau dia tau, habis lah. Dah la bahasa macam budak darjah 2. Mau saya dihantar ke kursus bahasa untuk 2 tahun berturut-turut macam ni... (mohon simpati, mata besar sambil berair-air)

Sebenarnye, saya nak citer pasal movie-movie yang yang saya tengok sejak 3 bulan yang lepas. Lama pulak tak citer pasal hiburan.

Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa

First sekali pasal movie yang semua banggakan, Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa, terbitan KRU. Kalau korang nak tau, movie ni dapat tajaan daripada Kementerian Sains dan Teknologi (MOSTI) pasal ada teknologi baru yang digunakan. Of course, korang tengok citer ni pon dah tau graphic dia lawa, satu permulaan yang kire bagus jugaklah untuk movie Malaysia. Tapi ada benda yang lacking untuk saya score 5 bintang kat movie ni. Bahasa dan jalan cerita. Korang tengok tak citer Puteri Gunung Ledang? Saya rasa cerita tu sangat superb, dilihatkan dari segi lenggok bahasa dan jalan cerita, memang kajian atau research yang dibuat tak boleh kita nafikan. Mungkin grafik tak selawa Merong Mahawangsa, tapi at least PGL lebih convincing. Banyak yang saya tak paham, tapi yang paling pening sekali macam mana Merong jatuh dari menara dan semua orang mati? Confuse. Tapi memandangkan grafik dia sangat awesome, saya bagi markah

Khurafat

Orang kata kalau citer anak Yusof Haslam ni, mesti dia berlakon macho semacam. Tapi untuk movie ni saya rasa tak. Lakonan Sabrina Ali sangat convincing even ni first time saya tengok dia dalam movie. Walaupun cerita ni sangat menjimatkan elektrik pasal semua lampu dalam scene dia off (mungkin dia shoot time Earth Hour), tapi dapat menimbulkan elemen-elemen terkejut macam dalam citer-citer Thailand atau Korea. Ending cerita ni sangat brilliant and very very unexpected. Must see.

The King's Speech

Ok, ni cerita yang bolot Oscar. Jadi terpaksa la saya tengok. Untuk korang yang tak minat sejarah, tak payah bazirkan RM12 untuk beli tiket, better bagi saya satu burger McD. Tapi untuk saya, cerita ni agak 'fresh', cerita pasal Raja George, raja England, bapa kepada Queen Elizabeth II yang ada sekarang ni. Kalau korang nak tau, Raja George ni gagap orangnya. So ini cerita macam mana dia harungi hidup dia sebagai seorang Raja yang gagap, tapi dengan bantuan seorang commoner, yang kononnye seorang doktor dan akhirnya membantu Raja George ni tadi. Macam saya cakap earlier, untuk orang yang minat sejarah je kot. Takde aksi, takde klimaks.

The Man From Nowhere

Ok. Tadi menang oscar, citer ni pulak menang Best Asian Movie. Citer Korea. Lebih mirip kepada citer Hollywood. Kisah pasal seorang bekas Ejen rahsia Kerajaan dengan seorang budak kecik, macam mana budak kecik yang jugak jiran ejen lelaki ni diculik dan terlibat dalam sindiket pengedaran dadah. Memang banyak aksi, main perasaan dan emosi. Ewah. Kire berdebar-debar jugak la masa tengok. Untuk gadis-gadis yang suka Korea nye citer cintan, malangnya ni bukan taste anda semua. Hehe.
