I wish to forget,

All the things,
All the small things,
That hurt me each and every day.

I wish to forget,
Why I hide behind a mask,
Shielding my face away,
Shielding myself away from all pain.

I wish to forget,
The things that made all my trust,
Fade away.

I wish I could forget,
All the fake emotions,
All the pretend smiles,
All the hollow laughs,
All the things I used to think,
Actually made me me.

I wish I could just forget,
But doesn't everyone wish that?
I wish I could forget,
All that causes me pain,
Just let me forget it all.
